MAY 2006:
Article 05M prototype (nicknamed MegaMedium) held in freeflight
by Muriel in front of the Pacific Ocean
Article 05
is a no frills manufactured R/C flying wing platform, Pylons allow
different payloads and shapes to be hanged on. 05 can be a glider
or feature an electrically powered pusher propeller. Article 05s
are being prototyped at different scales and prepared to be sold
as products for common people market. Upgraded 05s are being developed
for the Aerial Theater concept, including mechanical legs, surface
textures, smoke and light plug-in facilities.

beginning with the first R/C flight of the prototype
(3.5m wing span) in JUN 2006.
Please note that this prototype was designed from scratch, built
and flown in freeflight in 6 days. This includes the developing
of a shear-stress wing joining technique realised with velcro
pads: there are no beams, pins or other classical devices connecting
the wings to the body. R/C flying capabilities were added in an
afternoon time span.

Article 05's
feature ultra low wing load (<20 gr/dm2), ridicoulos stall
speed, a decent L/D (~20-25), overdimensioned control surfaces,
carefully balanced architecture and visual expressivity. This
allows unlimited aerobatic behaviour including the whole 3D repertoire
(when powered), high alpha manouverability (full control at ~50-60°
alpha), bird-like landings (flight stops thanks to a high drag
overdeveloped stall) and an absolute one-of-a-kind alien-bird
choreographic effect when flying solo or in swarms.

07 XS is a digested version of the concept and is now (JAN
